US cancels DEEP VZN (project to seek out potential pandemic viruses)

This DEEP VZN project was strongly criticized in biosecurity circles because it would have identified potential pandemic pathogens and had no way to prevent bad actors from intentionally obtaining and releasing them. Also, the risk of accidental release was another concern.

I'm glad to see it's been canceled.
