EAGxVirtual 2024 applications are now open! 

Join us (and likely 1,000+ others) for the virtual conference taking place on 15–17 November.

We are excited to host participants from around the world, including those who have not been able to attend in-person events or are new to EA ideas. If you have a genuine interest in participating, we encourage you to apply! 

This is likely the most accessible EA conference of 2024. Last year, 1,400 people registered – and we hope to see even more this year. 

Reasons to attend EAGxVirtual 2024

1. Build connections: Engage with 1,000+ attendees and reconnect with international friends.
2. Gain insights: Learn more about different cause areas and the EA landscape – including actionable opportunities.
3. Progress and develop: Exchange feedback on career, study, donation strategies, or impactful projects.
4. Clarify uncertainties: Participate in meaningful discussions around important ideas.

Who is this event for?

We welcome all who have a genuine interest in learning more about EA or connecting, including those who are new. Unlike other EAG conferences, we don't require previous engagement with EA and intend to approve the majority of applications. We still encourage you to be thoughtful about your application to get the most out of the conference, as well as to help the organizing team schedule relevant content.

If you are a highly-engaged EA, you are still encouraged to attend, and we’ve found previous attendees gain value from making connections and getting perspectives from all around the world. 

Virtual conferences are accessible to people who live outside of major EA hubs and to people who cannot travel easily. They often have fewer connections and opportunities, so by making yourself accessible to talk and provide feedback, it may significantly impact the trajectory of others. Supporting them can help build a stronger, more vibrant global EA community.

Why a virtual conference?

We want to help you identify next steps to act based on EA principles, wherever you are in the world. We aim to break geographical barriers with an accessible virtual venue, extended programming, and action-oriented content that will be relevant to different cultural and economical backgrounds. You can expect a wide range of talks, office hours, and workshops across EA cause areas, in addition to a mentorship program that will connect attendees to more experienced community members. 

Conference logistics

• Date: 15–17 November 2024.
• Schedule: TBD. We are working hard to schedule content and plan to have programming in global time zones.
• Platforms: We’ll use a virtual venue in Gathertown and Swapcard for connections and scheduling. Some meetups may be held in Gatheround.
• Application deadline: 11:59 pm UTC on 14 November.
• Cost: Free!

Besides attending, there are other ways you can contribute to making the conference a successful weekend for everyone. 

• Volunteer your time: Whether you have 2 or 20 hours to spare, we’d appreciate the help! Please express your interest in volunteering during the application process. 
   
• Suggest a speaker or nominate yourself: Fill out this form if you'd like to recommend a speaker to deliver a talk, host office hours, or run an interactive workshop. 
   
• Lead a EAGxVirtual watch party with your local or uni EA group: This year, we are encouraging group organizers to run congruent in-person events. View the resources or reach out for more information.
