Good.store is ”profit for good“ by Hank & John Green (vlog brothers)

[This likely applies to people in the USA only. Sorry, the rest of the world!]

This post rectifies the fact that there is currently no mention of Good.store on the Forum. According to their site:

[Good.store is] a place where you can get everyday products… and donate to charity while you’re at it… To date [we’ve raised] more than $10 million in donations, and we’re just getting started…

All of the profits from Sun Basin Soap and the Awesome Socks Club are donated to Partners In Health to fund the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone, which provides best-in-class medical care to mothers and children in a region with one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world.

All of the profits from Keats & Co [coffee & tea] are donated to Partners In Health to treat tuberculosis in Lesotho.  Tuberculosis is the world's deadliest disease, and yet it is preventable. This is why we're working to provide long-term funding for tuberculosis in some of the world’s most affected regions.

All of the profits from our newest collection, EcoGeek are donated to the Coral Reef Alliance, specifically the Maui Watershed Restoration Project.

I don't drink caffeine, but I bought holiday gifts of tea, coffee, and soap for my family.

I am currently switching my cleaning products to EcoGeek. I particularly like the fact that everything is concentrated, so they don’t waste resources shipping water.

I also just switched to Who Gives a Crap for my toilet paper needs:

…we donate 50% of our profits to help build toilets and improve sanitation in the developing world.

I try to buy Newman’s Own when I can (though I’m skeptical about how efficiently the recipients use the funds; it's still better than a multinational conglomerate profiting).

I’m a big fan of @Brad West🔸’s Profit for Good initiative, and his push for more such entities in the world. I thought people should know these. I don't have any financial connection with these orgs other than as a customer.

If you have others you like, please add them in a comment. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing this!

Yeah, I tried to contact the Good Store to invite them to the conference next week, but I wasn't able to get in touch. I'm really excited for the possibility of Profit for Good businesses to share a message together of a world where profits help charities instead of enriching random investors. Building a global brand around businesses where charities benefit is likely much more cost effective than many businesses building all the trust and awareness individually.

Is it also the case that some of Mr Beast's businesses are PFGs as well?

The only part of the Beast empire that is 100% charitable is his Beast Philanthropy channel. I do recommend people subscribe and watch those videos. He started with local food banks and has quickly moved to (what looks to me like) fairly effective humanitarian aid in LMICs. Some of his main channel videos cover his humanitarian efforts. But I think they are essentially marketing for his Philanthropy.

I subscribe to Hank & John’s newsletter and replied with the info on the P4G conference. Probably was read by an intern, but at least someone in the org is aware.
