GiveWell Hiring: Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant

We're hiring a Senior and a Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team dedicated to accuracy, transparency, and integrity.

Our Senior Accountant will:

• Own revenue reconciliation and fund accounting
• Partner with the Controller on process improvement, helping build a more efficient and scalable finance function
• Play a key role in compliance, contributing to financial statements and engaging directly with our auditors

Our Staff Accountant will:

• Own accounts payable and employee expense processes
• Support accounting close by recording journal entries and owning our monthly bank reconciliations
• Contribute to annual audit and 990 preparation alongside the Controller and Senior Accountant

For our Senior Accountant role, we're looking for candidates with 4+ years of accounting experience, a CPA license, and nonprofit expertise. For our Staff Accountant role, we’re looking for candidates with 2+ years of experience in accounting.

Details:

• Senior Accountant:
  • Remote (must be based in the US, UK, or Canada; we cannot sponsor visas for this role)
  • $135,500 (NYC / SF Bay Area) | $123,000 (all other US locations)
• Staff Accountant:
  • Remote (must be based in the US)
  • $113,000 (NYC / SF Bay Area) | $102,500 (all other US locations)
• Fully funded health coverage, 4 weeks PTO, 16 weeks parental leave, stipends for wellness and professional development
