EFFECTIVE ALTRUISM is about applying reason and evidence to the goal of improving the world, with the aim of doing the most good we can.

A REGULAR MEETUP for anyone in London interested in Effective Altruism (EA).

LAST MONTH the social meetup was our biggest yet with 30+ people. Discussions ranged from casual chat to how education charities support macroeconomic development, from making new friends to making new ethical career choices.

AT THIS MEETUP, following last month's success, we are going to keep the theme of 'generic social' and add in the theme of influencing others. Expect plenty of casual meandering conversation as well as a smidgen of discussion on questions such as: - To what extent should we try to influence others to do good / donate to charity / be vegetarian / etc? How important an opportunity is it and what are the drawbacks? - How can people most effectively encourage others to do good? - How can we grow the Effective Altruism community in London?

Newcomers are as always very welcome and if they can find Holly will be greeted with a free drink.

If you get lost or can't find us, Holly's phone number is 07910 094 247 and Sam's is 07932485772.

Love to all,

Sam and Holly :-)
