8 years ago MMM donated to GiveWell, what happened next?

My question: Have there been any projects or any organized efforts to tap into the early retirement (or similar financial blog/podcast/influencer) community as small/medium funders of effective charities?

Background:

Mr. Money Mustache (MMM) is a popular financial blog focused on early retirement.  In October 2016 he published "Notes on Giving Away my First $100,000[1]", $55K of which went to GiveWell.  This post includes a link to Peter Singer's TED talk about EA.

In 2017 he posted again "How to Give Money (and Get Happiness) More Easily[2]", which included giving $70K to GiveWell and there is a photo of some of the GiveWell staff which suggests some coordination and possibly efforts to publicize GiveWell as a giving option.  There's also a link to TheLifeYouCanSave.org

Subsequently, I could not find any references on the blog to effective altruism, Givewell, or anything similar.  This seems like a golden opportunity for coordination 7-8 years ago, though probably less of an opportunity with MMM now[3].  So my question:

Have there been any projects or any organized efforts to tap into the early retirement (or similar financial blog/podcast/influencer) community as small/medium funders of effective charities?

Thanks.

Yield & Spread from Rebecca Herbst is the closet thing to this I know of. Not sure if she's tried anything else with the FIRE community.
