EA Career Advising Ecosystem Mapping
By Vesa Hautala, JDBauman @ 2025-09-19T16:30 (+52)
This post provides a summary mapping of the EA / EA-adjacent career advising ecosystem as well as a list of various career resources, developed by the Career Advising Meta Forum.
What is the Career Advising Meta Forum?
EA and EA-adjacent organisations offer, in aggregate, dozens of incredible resources and thousands of career advising sessions per a year.
However, in early 2025, we realised that there existed seemingly few collaborations across the career advising sector. In late spring 2025, we began a working group of EA and EA adjacent organisations offering career advice and advising services to advance cooperation and collaboration in this space.
So far the forum has met three times to discuss challenges and opportunities in the impact-focused career advising space. We have a Slack group and met in-person at EAG London 2025 (as well as a smaller meeting a month before at EAGxNordics). We expect to meet periodically in the future.
To date, the meetings have been attended by:
Career advisories: E.g. 80,000 Hours, Probably Good, Animal Advocacy Careers, etc.
Affinity groups and profession-focused groups: Consultants for Impact, High Impact Professionals, High Impact Medicine, Christians for Impact, etc.
City groups and national groups doing significant amounts of career advising: EA DC, EA Germany, etc.
If you qualify as an EA / EA-adjacent organisation offering 50+ career 1-on-1s per year, we welcome you to join! Please DM me or @JDBauman to be included.
EA Career Advising Ecosystem Mapping
How we made this list
At EAG London 2025, career advisors in attendance created an overview of career organizations, their respective comparative advantages to the EA movement, and other resources frequently referenced in career advising (e.g. Job boards, directories, fellowships).
Caveats: We don't expect this to serve as an authoritative or exhaustive list of every relevant organization or resource, but we hope this serves as a helpful mapping of the broader EA career advising space. We (@JDBauman and I) have also made some additions, with a round of edits. We encourage readers interested in career advising to also consult other excellent articles on this forum.

This is a great resource, very detailed and something I think all group organisers should be aware of! Great work on it.
Two questions:
- How likely do you think it is that this is a complete list? (Or, how likely do you think it is that a relevant organisation isn’t on this list?)
- Do you have plans to maintain this list as orgs open/close/change, and if so roughly how often?
